Right Ingredients

"Two consultants, who have a total of nearly 30 years' experience in the industry, have set up a business designed to help restaurants attract and retain customers while keeping costs to a minimum."

As well as providing traditional services such as menu development, training, stock control, trouble shooting and recruitment, The Restaurant Ingredient is aiming to provide an extensive marketing service for businesses. The bosses claim their clients will benefit from a far more pro-active strategy of accessing new customers in a market where only a small number of restaurants do any kind of external marketing; instead opening their doors expecting diners to file in. Partners Guy Holmes and Amelia Abrams say: "Marketing plans will be drawn up and executed that are specific to each site and will include targeting local businesses; PR; market research; internal marketing; promotions as well as a multitude of other techniques and means to raise awareness of the establishment." And then having sourced new customers, The Restaurant Ingredient will "implement the best strategies to make sure they return again and again." Tailor made training programmes, advice on music, lighting, and design will help to ensure restaurateurs meet and exceed their customers' satisfaction levels. Guy says: "The hospitality industry is one that can haemorrhage money. We will ensure clients make the profit they should from their turnover by providing services such as stock control; cost control; audits and supplier sourcing." "A few mistakes made when opening a restaurant include: Having no previous trade experience and failing to get advice; knowing a bit about front of house, but operationally not having a good team; choosing the wrong site due to a lack of market research; and failing to build the necessary hype." "And then they fail to pursue ongoing marketing to keep the restaurant in people's minds; do not hire the right people; introduce uncompetitive pricing with no research on competition and fail with training." Guy, who achieved a BA Hons in Business and Finance specializing in Marketing, has worked for Bass, the Oxo Tower, Avenue and Cuba Libre. Amelia's background encompasses fine dining, successful restaurant concepts and outside catering companies. She has worked in restaurants in Turkey and Australia, opened Babe Ruth and was a general manager at Santa Fe. To contact Guy of The Restaurant Ingredient call 0871 7812270 or email info@tri.eu.com
